Hello and thank you for visiting my website. Here is a picture of me and my grandchildren before the photographer finally got everyone's attention. I picked this picture because life is full of surprises and each and everyone one of these kids have a nature of their own. All you can do is accept them and love them. Look at them, they each have a different expression as the photographer is trying to get their attention. Finally she got the picture she wanted, but life isn't always smiling and this picture shows the chaos as I take delight in disorder and confusion.
So let me introduce myself. I was born on the out skirts of Chicago, Ill. I love Chicago and that is why I have the picture on top. I spent a lot of time in Wisconsin with my grandparents during the summers growing up. They had a milk farm and so I learned to milk the cows and clean out the smelly barn. I graduated high school in 1972. I met my husband in October of 1973 and I was only nineteen years old. We got married that following April in 1974. We have five children, four daughters and one son. My husband moved us around a lot and we lived in Illinois, Texas, Oklahoma, Indiana, Maryland, and Arizona. Arizona is where we have laid our hats. Can't move if I wanted to because three of my children and four of my grandchildren live here. Four of my children are married and together they have given me seven grandchildren. I am fortunate that my oldest daughter is a school teacher with the summers off. Since she lives in Oklahoma, she comes down for the summer and stays with me for 4 or 5 weeks, giving me a chance to stay close with her three children. That is what life is all about, GRANDCHILDREN.
I love photography and to read. I wrote my first book, Alzheimer’s A Caretakers Journal, from journals I kept while taking care of my father in law with his Alzheimer’s.
My book The Silver Locket came to me after my first grandchild turned fifteen years old. The memories came flooding back to that time her mom was pregnant while in high school which was the idea behind this book.
My third book A Struggle of the Heart came next as I looked back into my life when I changed careers from being a beautician to a paramedic due to the Oklahoma City Bombing.
My forth book Rosemary & Antonio is my version of Romeo and Juliet but in the 1920’s. Growing up and living in Chicago, the history of Al Capone is very interesting to me since my grandpa use to work for him.
My fifth book Sometimes Love Hurts truly comes from my heart. It is about love, marriage, betrayal and forgiveness. In our marriage we have had some betrayal and forgiving to do to keep us together and this is how I came up with this book.
My sixth book The Power of the Babbling Brook is a fantasy about Juan Ponce de Leon and the fountain of youth. If you like time travel, knights in shiny armor, and a little history you will enjoy this book.
My seventh book What's Your Poison is a fiction book that about drugs & alcohol. I got a job at a rehab center where I have come up with the ideas for this book.
My eight book The Voyage is a fiction book on marriage vows and how sacred they are. My life has not always been easy being married but we have made it to 45 yrs so far. It has been hard work and keeping our love alive was worth it. That is how I came up with the idea for this book.
I have been writing a blog about Love and how it is a choice. It is my life and how the decisions I made to keep my family together and to keep romance alive.
I am presently working on another book while working full time on an ambulance and watching my grandchildren on my days off. Thank you for coming to my site and I hope you enjoy my books.
