The Silver Locket review says it all: This is definitely a must read if you have a teenage daughter. It reminds us that we are going to make mistakes in life but it how we handle those mistakes and grow from them. This young girl learns and grows from some of the mistakes she makes. She find love, happiness and some sadness. But she learns you just have to keep on going and to trust others.. Love this book.
A Struggle of the Heart review says it all: This book touched my heart on so many levels, from the main character Annette Ferrari feeling she fell in love at first while at work a beauty salon, in downtown Oklahoma, to the bombing in downtown Oklahoma City on April 19, 1995, of the Alfred P. Murrah Federal Building. The feeling of wanting to do more, than watch events unfold on television, brings a new goal in life for Annette, wanting to be a paramedic. I never realized how much hard work goes into becoming a paramedic, until reading this book, I now have a new found respect and admiration to all that are paramedics. However this book is so much more than love, and becoming a paramedic. It's about devotion, to work, family and friends.
Sometimes Love Hurts review says it all: Sometimes Love hurts, is a well written, classy, and fast paced book, I have had the pleasure of reading in a long time, it's more than a typical love story, but written with class, it reminds me a lot of the days when a love scene in an old black and white movie suggests what is about to happen, but fades to black, and goes to the next event. It begins with the main characters, Crystal and Blake married for a year, and finds Crystal close to giving birth their first baby very soon. Blake has been working long hours at work for a quite a time, he is a restaurant manager, for a boss, Katherine that wants more from him than he is willing to give, but recently is demanding more of his time at work. His long hours at work, plus the fact that Crystal has met Katherine, combined with the fact that she finds lipstick on his collar while doing laundry, all adds in her mind to her husband having an affair, or is he? Though there is a dangerous rain storm occurring on this night she cannot bear to stay in the home she shares with her husband. She leaves their home to go to the one place she knows she can find unconditional love and understanding, her parents house. It's there that the rain takes on it's own type of metaphor, as she learns about her family's journey through some hard times.
Rosemary & Antonio review says it all: Rosemary & Antonio is a sweet and clean historical romance about a couple that had a lot of reason to stay away from each other but that did nothing but fall in love with the other repeatedly. Rosemary is a sweet and young girl that comes from an Italian Catholic family. She has been so focused in her studies that she has had no time for boys. Antonio is a young German-Irishman who is working with his father as a mechanic. He isn’t that fond of responsibilities and the future until he set his eyes on his exact opposite. This story is set in Chicago, in the 1920. Nevertheless, it kind of remind me of Grease and Romeo and Juliet in some scenes. There is no direct rivalry among families, but there is one between Rosemary’s uncle and the people Antonio and his father work for. I know it doesn’t sound that complicated or dangerous, but believe me when I tell you it is. Our hero and heroine will shred a lot of tears and yell their hearts out because of the stubborn people that couldn’t understand that couldn’t understand real love and that they wanted more in life than a life surrounded by betrayal, crime, and violence.
The Power of the Babbling Brook review says it all: A truly powerful and enjoyable story, whimsical, fantasy, and a bit of history, mixed in with a love story, combined to make a five star read.
When Ponce de Leon comes to the future in search of the Merlin the Magician, on a mission for King Fernidad, to find the Fountain of Youth, he mistakenly sees a history teacher dressed as the magician, Marlena Gates, who is doing a fund raiser for the school she works in, and brings her back to his time. He is shocked when he gets her there to find she is a beautiful woman, when she takes off her mask.
