![]() Hi everyone, Hope this New Year is finding everyone well. For you young ones, remember that one thing will always happen in life. It is called CHANGE. Seems like things go well for a while and then overnight, your life changes, sometimes for the good and sometimes for the worse but it will change again and again. You have to finish school even if you don’t think it is important if you want to make something of yourself. In my day just to finish high school was important but now, you young ones need college and even more college. Life is an adventure no matter how you look at it. We have no idea what tomorrow is going to bring but we need to embrace this unknown with open arms. I always think as my glass being half full instead of half empty. So far in my family we have had a few changes to start of this New Year. My husband lost his job, and my hours are being cut but we both have our health and I believe God is taking care of us. I am putting my book called The Silver Locket into paper back which I think will happen in March with Creative Flight Publishing. I am hoping that my writing is good enough to help us keep afloat as I still work on the ambulance. I love working on the ambulance, helping others and hopefully will continue for a long time. Haha, well as long as I can since I am getting older. I can use your help. If you are looking for a good book or know of a friend that is looking for a good book please give them my name as the author you enjoy reading. I am still looking for some reviews on my newest book called Sometimes Love Hurts. Of course I am looking for sales to all my books so if you know anyone. . . . . Thank You for all you do as readers, I really appreciate you. ![]() This is the adventure we did for my husband’s 60th birthday. Believe it or not it was only 24 degrees here in Phoenix as we got on our Hot Air Balloon. My husband froze and I really don’t think he enjoyed the cold air. Our toes and fingers froze but I loved the ride. He said at least he did it for his bucket list. REMEMBER LIFE IS AN ADVENTURE

![]() OK so I got a review on my newest book called Sometimes Love Hurts. It only got 2 stars, yet the reviewer had some interesting things to say. As she wrote the things that disappointed her, she also wrote things that intrigued her. She starts with some negative feedback: There were just some smalls things that got me (and I picked up on these throughout the novel) such as using the narrative mode incorrectly. The book is told from multiple perspectives, in first-person narratives. Yet there were parts where the character would speak in first-person, and say stuff that she couldn’t know unless she was looking atherself—which, I’m pretty sure, in that scene, she wasn’t. I mainly noticed this with the character of Crystal. Then on a positive note she writes: Essentially, this is a story about love. Fostino uses layering really well to combine several narrative layers into her book, each of which tell their own love story, whilst linking into the other stories. And it was this combining of narrative layers that really ‘did it’ for me. Because, it was cleverly tackled. And, believe me, it got complicated in places, but Fostino handled it expertly. Another positive thing she writes: Mirroring is something that Fostino did really well in ‘Sometimes Love Hurts’. I absolutely loved how the love stories of the youngest and oldest generation mirrored each other, whilst the middle love story was slightly different. Now back to some negative again: However, I felt that it was more of a glimpse into several characters’ lives than a story. I mean that in the sense that, for me, there wasn’t an actual plot and almost no character development was apparent. There wasn’t a climactic build-up of events, and there was a lot more telling going on than showing, (but then a large proportion of the novel is told through journal entries). It was probably for this reason that I didn’t really feel that engaged with the characters, or feel much tension at all. I don’t know, maybe it’s because I like a lot of action… There is a lot more to this review and I guess what I am saying is I would love to see what you think? Between all the negative and positive things she said I am sure it was hard for her to rate this book. I have to say I really appreciate her reading and reviewing my book with all her details that she took the time to write. Check out her review and then maybe take a chance and read it yourself and see if you agree or disagree. Thank You Madeline for all you do, I applaud you. http://madelinedyer.co.uk/review-sometimes-love-hurts-by-marie-fostino/ Well the old year has passed and a New Year is here. Have you made any
resolutions? Do you have any plans for this New Year? My family has decided that we are going to start this year with dieting. So we are on a diet, weighing in every two weeks for the next six weeks. I am the crazy one and I love the Fast Food Diet off of Good Housekeeping. Plus I love to ride my bike or run/walk a couple miles a day when I am not working. I had to put the chocolate cake in the freezer so I would not get the urge to eat the rest of it. My plan for this year is to get my E-books into paper back. With the help of Creative Flight Publishing here in Phoenix, my books, one at a time will be paper back. Meanwhile I would still love to give out a F-R-E-E book of your choice in exchange for an honest review on Amazon. Are you interested? |
